Having a sensory space will allow my students with Autism to be able to take a "break" and receive the sensory output that they desperately need. These items will help manage their behaviors and provide them with the opportunity to decompress. We currently do not have a sensory space in the school building and this setup would not only benefit my core group of students, but the other Autism classroom and LD students as well if they require a sensory diet. My students are noticeably more calm when they are able to experience sensory output options so having a sensory space would increase this positive trend!
