Flexible Seating will give my students the opportunity to have choose the seating that will allow them to be more productive and engaged in their learning. My students are always picking different areas in the room to work, at tables, in the reading area, or their desks. The stools will be used at our guided reading tables and at their desks. The light weight will allow them to move them around the room. The floor seat and cushions will be used in the quiet reading area while reading books alone or with a friend and when we meet as a group for discussions.
The donations of all the different flexible seating will help my students be comfortable while they are working and help improve focus and productivity.
Flexible seating also increases their student responsibility by choosing a strategic workspace. Students learn what works best for their learning and are able to be engaged for longer tasks when they have chosen the tools to help them.
I have seen the the positive impact flexible seating can be and how by providing a different work environment that students can improve their focus and productivity throughout the day.
