Don't you just love to curl up in a cozy spot with a good book to enjoy? My scholars do too! Diving into a good book on a comfy cushion or bean bag is the goal. Scholars will be able to lounge around the classroom with their book in hand, exploring the pages, engaging with the text or sharing with a partner. The goal this year- to cultivate readers and provide seating to encourage a relaxing environment. Fourth graders are full of energy these busy kiddos need a little bit of extra help staying focused- cue flexible seating! The kick bands, seat cushions and wobble stools are tools I find will make a difference in their learning. For example, I have a handful of energetic boys who do their best with movement. Being able to distract their bodies so that their mind can focus is key. In addition, our classroom easel board is falling apart and we need a replacement. This is a main source of instruction in my small math groups, novel study (interactive chart creating), etc. The scholars also use the easel to display their work and strategies. So, a new easel is desperately needed! The easel I have chosen is very versatile and lightweight, portable and able to be moved wherever needed.
