Due to the extremely large class size numbers at our school, we do not have enough books for each student during our novel study units. Our novel study units will produce many benefits, including language arts, character study, writing projects, and more. Reading a novel as a class will get my students even more excited about reading. My students will benefit from novel study units, with increased benefits if every student has access to the same text. These activities will be different for students than a teacher read aloud because students can follow along in the text, which allows students to receive a great model for appropriate fluency, accuracy, and comprehension.
