My students are excited to come to school each day! They come from many diverse backgrounds, and speak different languages. Some students are learning how to speak English for the first time. Many students are from low income families; the school provides services to meet some of these needs, such as providing food packs, warm coats, and boots for the winter. The school works as a community with an established set of school-wide expectations. The classroom environment contains classroom rules and procedures that are monitored daily. Students are able to earn incentives based on following the rules, putting forth hard work, and completing assignments. Time is spent on teaching character traits such as responsibility and teamwork to build a community of trust and respect.
