The soundproof foam and room divider will be used to soundproof a small space where our podcasts and interviews can be recorded. More than that, students who have difficulty expressing themselves in written form will be allowed to use the recording equipment to demonstrate their understanding of the material by making recordings. My journalism and newspaper students want their voices heard, and I am doing everything in my power as their teacher to make sure that happens. Right now we have one podcast because my students are constantly searching for a quiet place where they can record. We have the space set aside to make a soundproof booth, but we need the materials to make that a reality. My students also enjoy the challenge of creating a show. They work through planning the shows, interviewing guests, editing their material, finding music they can use without breaking copyright laws, and advertising. There are so many critical aspects of​ making a successful podcast, and I just want to give them the space to make it all happen.
