I have taught Special Education for the past 16 years and have recently made the leap into general education. Most of my materials that I have collected over the years are fabulous for Preschool level students but not so much for typically developing 2nd graders. I am in a newly added 2nd grade classroom. I do have curriculum but not much else was provided in the classroom. General supplies needed as well as some fun stuff to help make learning more interactive and engaging. Math manipulatives such as dominoes and playing cards are needed. The folders and pencil pouches are intended for homework kits that the students can bring home every week with games to play with their family. Interactive White Boards and technology help to make student learning more engaging and fun. It also can help with training with the classroom how to use specific websites. Organization items help to keep the classroom neat, especially when everything has a place to go. My classroom is limited on space so being organized is essential. Color printing is very limited in our school, being able to print in color at school (instead of always having to print at home) would be a definite plus.
