Atlases are a colorful tool to show maps and enforce Geography skills. Having a book to flip through and learn how to use the index and table of contents, is more valuable then looking up a map online. Colorful resources are known to attract attention. The 6th grade curriculum begins with the basics in Geography. We then use those initial skills in studying river civilizations. Map skills are emphasize all year through the use of daily warm ups. As the year progress, warm ups do get more difficult and an atlas would be helpful. Mapping out the future can only ensure success through their educational career!
