These materials will make a huge difference for my students by providing them so many wonderful hands-on games to learn their essential skills. Engaging, play-based centers will reinforce taught skills, through writing, word work, and fine motor skills. These centers will be play focused and will encourage young students' independence. Most importantly this will lead to fewer disruptions while we are having guided reading time. These new items will give us the foundation for the Daily Five- Reading to Self, Listening to Reading, Word Work, Writing, and Read to Others. The main component will be our listening center where students will reread a story we have already enjoyed in the whole group. This will be an activity they do together. They will look through the book as they listen to the story. As a group, they will be able to engage in conversation with their peers about the story they have enjoyed.
