My students are truly incredible and make teaching my passion! I have been teaching for 17 years, and I've lasted this long because of them. I teach at Wilkinson MS which is 90% poverty. They help take care of siblings because parents are working two jobs to make ends meet. My students know an education will get them a better life, but sometimes life is just hard and school becomes hard. I remind them daily that I'm here to help guide them to that better life! I'm always amazed at how much my students want to learn, and how far they come with the quality of teaching at our school. My husband and I don't have kids, so our students our are kids, and we invest everything into them. We never mind spending our own money, but why not get help from people who want to help. Education is the BEST investment!
