HI! My name is Mrs. Tawse. I am a 5th grade Science/Social Studies teacher at West Hertel Academy in Buffalo, NY. I teach 90 students with diverse backgrounds and needs. Many of my students are English Language Learners and English is not their first language. There is currently 10 different languages spoken in the 5th grade. One of the many challenges I face is teaching science to students whom have received little science and social studies instruction in the past. I try to integrate as many hands-on activities that I can. My goal is try and get some funding so we can do more hands-on activities in my classroom. Thank you so much in advance.
