I am teaching ELA for the first time in four years. I am in need of more guided reading materials, but specifically for my higher group of students. I have a few students that are ready to ready third grade books. This is also the first time that I will be teaching literacy in a dual language classroom. This project will help my students get more exposure to chapter books at their level in a small group setting, both in my dual language class and my monolingual English class. They will get to become leaders in their groups. I will be conducting literature circles with these novels. Everyone in a literature circle will have a responsibility to help the whole group understand the text.
