My Kindergarten class consist of 35 students and they range in ages from 5 to 6 years old. My students come from different cultural, social, and economic backgrounds. Many of them are experiencing school for the first time, but they are ready to succeed . They are in a great school that offers the right environment for them to learn. More than 50% of my students are able to recognize numbers from 0-20, but some of them are struggling to write, compose and decompose the numbers. They are in need of additional small group activities to gain independence and confidence. These students live in a world where the use of technology is common and is replacing the basic social skills. With the proper tools and hands-on centers they will be willing to use the technology as well as work in groups and centers to enrich their abilities academically and socially. My students love learning and having fun at the same time.
