Small group reading instruction needs students to work independently in order for me to instruct targeted lessons at each groups learning ability. I chose books and cd's from the Scholastic website for students to listen to reading during independent practice. Independent practice needs engaging activities to ensure that students are self supporting during small reading groups. The books that I chose are interesting and engaging by including non-fiction texts with high interest animals, that will increase their reading enjoyment. These sets include multiple books so that each student at the center will be able to work independently with book in hand.
