These tools will allow my sweet energetic students to take calming breaks, lower their anxiety and enhance their focus throughout their day. Without sensory tools they will not be ready to absorb the lessons that are being taught. Sensory materials will allow my students to organize the information they gather through their senses and be able to use their body appropriately by allowing them to be a learner. A lack of sensory processing can affect many areas of development for my students, making learning difficult. The use of these materials will benefit my students in all areas of learning. Their sensory needs must be met to move forward! I chose the pea pod, weighted lap pad, body sock, textured pop beads and the rapper snapper for deep pressure. The gel e seat, ball chair, and tangle therapy to help enhance their focus. They will use the liquid tile, balance board, color mix and glitter tubes for calming breaks. The classroom filters will be used to cover our lights for our students that are sensitive to bright lights. This will allow them to focus without getting a headache and having a distraction.
