The use of white boards in my class is a daily occurrence. Currently, we are using page protectors to write on, and it is very difficult for them to write words on them when sitting on the rainbow carpet. I would love to continue blending sounds with my students on the carpet to further their love of learning how to read and write. In addition, we will use the white boards to work out math problems as I circulate around the class helping the ones who need a little extra attention. The use of the magnetic white boards, along with the magnetic letters, will help my students during small group instruction to build words and become better writers. The magnetic sentence strips and magnetic paragraph page will provide a model of writing that they can copy by themselves on their own white board or paper.
