I have been working all summer to make the dream of my prior class come true. They requested more flexible seating options in my classroom. My journey with flexible seating started after changing my teaching style to blended learning. This offered choice and independence giving students the opportunity to work on the curriculum at their level of learning and at their pace. Flexible seating helps promote this style of learning since we are working on different activities at different times we need different spaces. In our classroom the need to get up and move is imperative. My students come from a generation where constant movement is a norm. Research also shows that students learn through movement. The stability balls and standing desk does not restrict them to their seats! They can get up and move to another seat and move while they are working. We appreciate you making this happen for us!!!
