Tabletop games (board games, card games and tabletop role-playing games) have been proven to build life skills in people of all ages! Any games purchased for our Parker Plays Tabletop Game Club will be taught to and played by students from first grade through sixth grade. All students should get the opportunity to play games in a fun, safe atmosphere.
Tabletop "gamers" become part of a community. This community will teach new games to one another, build life skills such as communication and problem solving, and generally support one another throughout the school day and beyond. A multi-grade level tabletop game club will increase the community across the school building as well as within grade levels. Tabletops games will also increase student involvement for students who are often not selected or into academic clubs or sports teams. Let's get all of our kiddos connected, communicating and GAMING!!
I am looking for donations for board games, card games and the elements necessary for tabletop role-playing games. I am especially excited for cooperative board games that can be played across grade levels. These games will be used during weekly sessions at Parker Plays. Students in grades 4-6 will learn many of the games and will then teach the games to students in grades 1-3. I also hope to have enough board games to begin a game library for students to play whenever they come to Parker Plays.
