A MakerSpace is defined as a place where students can gather to create, invent, and learn. When we have done MakerSpace activities in media, the students have loved them. All of the students were engaged, actively working, and clamoring for more! The purchase of Legos, Magformers, Snap Circuits, origami paper, and craft supplies will allow me to open a MakerSpace in our media center and give our students more opportunities for creative exploration. Having these resources will provide our students with opportunities for critical thinking and the ability to explore new ideas and problem solve while collaborating with their classmates. These are all essential skills for 21st-century learners.
