Shark Tank has become a household term that people recognize all accross America. In my classroom, we have a "Think Tank" in which students have to work in teams to come up with a business in which they have to create a product which does not yet exist. Students formulate a company name, logo, business and marketing plan, advertisment, product mark up and commercial, in which they present to the class. Each team tries to compete against one another. A challenge we have encountered is in the creation stage of the products. We are looking to add a technology component where students can create thier products using a 3D printer. Giving students the ability to take their ideas and make them a reality by having the actual product print out, would be amazing. I would love to have my fashion students be able to create shoes with the 3D printer. My Exploring Business students would be able to create products that we have not even imagined yet. By obtaining a 3D printer, it will help to unlock doors my students never thought possible.
