Being able to make choices that have a positive impact on your life is rewarding. This is what my students get to do all day, every day in our classroom. Currently my students stand at a high table, sit at a desk on a chair, sit on the floor at a table, sit with a clip board or lay on their tummy with a clip board. Having choices in their own learning is motivational. Student's active engagement is much higher when they choose what is right for them rather than being confined to an uncomfortable situation. Wobble chairs and flex comfy floor seats will allow my students to have additional seating options so they can make more effective learning choices. These new seating options promote community and collaboration through the sharing of space as it allows my students to easily and quickly pair or group up as well as providing opportunities for them to problem solve, stimulate their brain and body through movement, and be comfortable in their learning environment. The wobble chairs are designed to help students strengthen their abdominal muscles as well as increase their strength and muscle tone, promoting motor control. They also help kids get their wiggles out in a non disruptive way. Because the bottoms are a bit rounded they burn off excess energy and get the stimulus their muscles are looking for, making them more attentive in class. The flex comfy floor seats with their cushioned adjustable backs will give comfort to those who choose to sit on the hard floor. Student choice in our classroom has increased learning, lessened disruptions and promoted problem solving. These products will only add to the positives in our room.
