Most of the students in my class are entering a school setting for the very first time. However, they quickly become comfortable because of the inviting atmosphere of my classroom. I love to allow students the freedom to learn in their own way and at their own pace. I love to foster creativity in whatever form that looks like for each student. By donating to my project, you will be helping children to learn to write at their own pace as well as express creativity in their own way. The gumball grippers will be used to help scaffold writing abilities. Some students will have never held a pencil before and this activity will help to build the muscles needed to begin the writing process. I will also use the smock and stamp materials weekly, if not daily, in the art center. This will allow students the opportunity to be creative while keeping the classroom a clean and safe place. I would also like to put up math inspired poster around my room so they can learn through their environment while they explore all the classroom centers. Pre-K students love to learn through experiences and these materials would greatly help accomplish that!
