I teach in one of the poorest cities in the country. My students are children who love science, and dream to be doctors and scientists. To help change our students’ lives, we have designed a rigorous school centered on science and medicine. Lack of calculators leaves my students unprepared and very hindered when it comes to high- stakes tests (such as ACT and SAT). I believe this will help my students reach their fullest mathematical potential. I am speaking of very dedicated & hard-working children! While their friends are out of school at 2:30, my students are here an hour longer. When the district lets out at the beginning of June, my students are here 3 more weeks. Evan many Saturdays I am at school with my Math Club students preparing for various math competitions.
