I teach a dynamic group of students who are all brilliantly unique and talented in their own way. We have a homeroom with 22 students who are mathematicians, and super slueths in social studies and scienceI These students have only been taught entirely with common core standards and methodologies since Kindergarten, and they are exceptional learners! Every day, my homeroom students that are close to or at grade level standards in English Language Arts rotate out to my grade level team teachers. Then, I receive students from the other 3rd grade classrooms, who need extra focus on reading foundations, and I teach an intensive intervention reading program to 30 super lucky 3rd graders! We use Scholastic's System 44 to address reading difficulties and most students show impressive growth in both fluency and reading comprehension!
