I have the liveliest group of first graders who love a good story. First grade is the time when many of them are just discovering a love of reading. When they first start to put letters and sounds together to read words and then simple sentences and later full fledged stories. It is a joy to watch them grow in this way. Many of them come from disadvantaged homes where no one is reading to them, so the time they spend in the classroom with a good book is precious.

About my class
