My students love Art class! There are some students that have behavior challenges that come to Art class and seem to behave wonderfully! Art is a way to express you feelings and let go of things. Students need to learn about the elements and principals of art so that they can better express their feelings and ideas. This project is focused on color. I have used paint in the past to teach lessons on blending, however there are lots of ways we can do it with colored pencils. The projects can turn out beautifully! It's just such a challenge not having good strong pencil sharpeners at the tables for students to use. Having students get up out of their seats is a huge distraction. It moves their focus away from their papers. It distracts others in the room. It just makes for a slower process for getting projects done in the Art room. Once we have the sharpeners we can do the colored pencil projects one blending and many more!
