I am requesting 3 Hokki stools for my students to use in the classroom during literacy instruction and when they are reading. The students all love the Hokki stools we have and have shared that it greatly increases their ability to remain on task and focused during work and reading time. Reading is a life-long skill and often when students reach 6th grade, they are discouraged by reading. I want students to have a hunger to read on their own and adding new books often to our classroom library helps to keep them excited about reading. Therefore, I am also requesting some new books to add to our classroom library. These books include topics such as career choices to help expose the kids to options they haven't thought of, non-fiction titles, a poetry book they have been requesting and a couple fictional books they have been waiting to read.
