I teach a diverse group of first grade students, several of which are emerging English Language Learners. Their abilities range from decoding simple text such as "cat" to reading advanced level chapter books. Sadly, several of my students are below grade level in reading and math. We do not have any aide support in the classroom, but we are blessed with a wonderful and supportive group of parent volunteers. I have to be creative in keeping all children on task as I tailor instruction to each child.

About my class
