My students attend a public school that has 100% free lunch (based on poverty levels). These children don't have the same opportunities to go out and engage in various learning experiences because their families are trying to provide food and shelter and in many circumstances struggling with it. We give out snack packs every Friday so they will have food/snacks throughout the weekend until they get to school on Monday. The materials I have asked for will provide my students with many different learning opportunities and experiences needed for future school success.
