My students are in a title one, low socioeconomic status and they are not used to having the finer things. I would like to provide a space for them to feel like they are safe, secure, and it is a sound place to read, enjoy reading, and comprehend reading. The seats will help them to be comfortable while reading. The chart paper/easel will help me to record reading notes and things I want the whole class to remember. I also want to have the space organized which the tubs will help organize books at different levels. Although my students are all in 5th grade, it doesn't mean that they are all at a 5th grade reading level. Many students are above, below, and at level. So, having a variety of books, will help my students to be able to read and understand what they are reading.
