Working in collaborative groups builds community within a classroom! I am hoping to provide my students enough comfortable seating on the carpet to enable productive, small group collaborations! I chose seating options that will support conversations with students, while also allowing effective note-taking to take place with the help of the clipboards. Working in small groups builds community and it reinforces the 21st century skills that our children need to learn to be successful in the future. Encouraging collaborative groupings not only teaches students the art of conversation, but it also reinforces social skills that will benefit them in middle, high school, and college.

About my class
