My second grade students attend a Title I public school in Council Bluffs, IA. Our school is approximately 85% free and reduced lunch and we have an ELL population of 12%. Most of my students come with lagging skills in reading, but they are eager to learn. We have high classroom sizes and limited resources. I work hard to provide my students with innovative activities to improve reading skills. Many of these activities and resources are made by me in my own time or bought from my own money. By listening to reading an author models fluent reading and helps students increase their own reading fluency. My goal is to provide many opportunities for my students to improve their their reading skills.
