I have seen how seating choice and personal space on the floor can positively support my student's ability to listen. Giving students an assigned place will help our transition to the floor to be more efficient and smooth. I hope that the warm earth-tone colors and alphabet pattern will help ground students and reinforce letter recognition. A comfortable rug with designated individual space options will help them focus and grow as life-long learners! The carpet in my classroom will be used as the central learning space for students. Though my students currently have colored lines on the floor, they are velcro and do not stick well to the floor year after year. A carpet would be an investment into my classroom that could last my entire teaching career for all of my incoming students!
