The Scholastic Choices magazine will allow students to use real-world examples to activate their social emotional development. Using Choices in individual counseling, small group counseling, and classroom lessons, I will work with students to increase their social emotional intelligence by tackling timely issues that affect adolescents and teenagers today. During guided lessons or sessions, I plan to use Choices with students to teach the skills needed to make healthy, positive decisions. The magazine features awesome online resources, such as skills sheets, videos, and slideshows to make the most of each and every issue. Choices will also encourage students less likely to read outside of the classroom to read more.
