Our school is one of the smallest in the district and so is our library budget. That means providing the latest, most popular reading for students is difficult. My students are hungry for good books and they deserve to have better than the decades old materials they have now. Providing students with high interest- low level reading material is the best way to get them hooked on reading. My wish list is full of books that will grab the young reader, help them stay interested and coming back for more. The more they feel successful at reading the more confident they get and that's when the real growth happens. As a student grows strong and independent at reading they really learn what kinds of books they like so it is important to have variety, a little of something for everyone.
