The 2 Chrome books will give our class a total of 5. In the 3 weeks I've had with my 30 students, we have used technology 7 times. Students have created a Google Drawing for a netiquette metaphor project, researched world biomes, and compared and contrasted CA regions. I have been able to witness my students maneuver through the Internet as they gain information. I have given lessons on attribution and evaluating a website. This is just the start! The additional 2 Chromebooks will help reduce the amount of student-to-technology ratio and the technology students have to bring from home. As enthusiastic as students are in bringing in their technology, the numbers aren't consistent over the multiple day projects. And some parents worry about letting their child bring in technology. It also makes it difficult for the numerous potential learning opportunities that come up daily from student-directed questions. Student curiosity can lead to so much more learning than a text book holds. And technology is the avenue in which their curiosity can drive on. And I trust them to be at the wheel!
