My 1st grade students are in the most critical year of their education and are facing the exciting challenge of learning how to read. They need frequent practice applying their newly acquired knowledge and skills. Unfortunately, most of my students do not have books or access to books on their independent reading level at home. The book bags I have requested for my young scholars would be so helpful in giving my students a way to be able to transport on level books between school and home with them every day. Book bags will also provide a safe place to preserve our class books and personalized reading manipulatives so they can be used for years to come. I have also requested a storage rack for our book bags.
