My students love to move around while they are learning. Many have difficulty sitting on a classroom chair for longer than 15 minutes at a time. Many will rock backwards in their chairs when they become antsy. Not only is this a safety concern, but it is also a distraction to those around them. Research shows that physical activity promotes learning. Sitting still for long periods of time can be hard on our bodies. These cushions will allow my students to shift their weight around, without being disruptive, and concentrate on their learning. The instability will also help to improve the students' posture. In addition, since they're portable, students will be able to use the cushions anywhere in our room.
