We are an urban public school that is authorized as an International Baccalaureate primary year’s program. As a philosophy we teach through the lens of inquiry. Our school is also designated as a Native American Focus school offering community building for our local Native American students. As apart of the Native American focus we often discuss storytelling as a cultural aspect, means to communicate, and quality instructional tool for all learners. Our school also serves children that are learning English as a second language. My students are very communicative and often love to share experiences about their families and lives but could develop a higher frequency of literacy critical thinking skills with the help of quality learning tools.
