Often, our technology use is restricted to a limited number of laptops with minds of their own. Furthermore, many students do not have access to technology once they leave our school. Because of this, I want to able to provide them with access to a device where they can engage in meaningful activities and excel on their own within our classroom. An iPad Pro would not only appeal to learners of multiple intelligences, but would also allow the students to expand their educational and technology skills. An iPad Pro would be especially useful for students to immerse themselves in educational applications which enhance literacy skills, such as reading, listening, speaking, and writing. A bigger screen on the device would not only appeal to the students, but allow kinesthetic learners to flourish. An Apple Smart Keyboard for iPad Pro and and iPad Pro pencil would allow the iPad to be multi-functional while providing students the opportunity to refine their writing skills. As a teacher, providing the opportunity to work independently on a meaningful activity that engages fifth-graders can get challenging. In such a high-stakes grade, where students expected to master many skills, independent work can become nothing more than a punishing routine. I want it to be more than that. I want my students to be engaged and challenged. I want my students to remain curious for knowledge. An iPad Pro would allow students to use applications which teach them not only core content, but also teach them about the world around them in the growing age of technology. It would allow students to apply their skills and build on them. It would also allow my English Language Learners to practice their English proficiency skills without the pressures of performing.
