My 6th grade science classroom is student centered and hands on. Students regularly participate in labs and learning stations. Having options beyond traditional lab tables and chairs will add another whole layer into our learning environment. Flexible seating gives students a voice and choice in their learning! It gives them options and allows them to make the choices that work best for them. During independent activities students can choose a seating style and location in the classroom that works for them. When engaged in group work, students can easily adjust seating in the classroom and flow into the hallway outside of the classroom. My students are more engaged and less disruptive when they are given choices! The products I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options. The stools can easily be moved around the room and take less space then traditional classroom chairs. The portable reclining seats are great when a student wants to sit on the floor to have a better view of the whiteboard, a quiet area away from others to work independently, or for a group to sit in the hall and collaborate. The yoga mats can do the same, as well as, allow a student to sprawl out if needed. All the products are durable, easy to clean and easy to store.
