My students inspire me on a daily basis. I teach students Kindergarten and 1st grade with moderate to severe autism. They face challenges that are unimaginable, yet they never give up. Courageous and smart, they often demonstrate knowledge that is on the same level or exceeds that of their general education peers in some subjects, but they require different means to demonstrate that knowledge. Our school is a wonderful and enriching environment for my students with the general education students supportive and accepting of the differences in our students. I work to provide my students with a safe and supportive environment that is tailored to their specific needs, which provides what they need to be successful!
