The students at River Oaks Elementary School are hard working and full of excitement about learning! We are a Title 1 school with a large ESL population in Northern Virginia. As the school's special education teacher, I work with students with a variety of learning challenges: Learning Disabilities, Autism, Vision Impairments, ADHD, Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities, and Low Cognitive Functioning. I maintain high expectations for my students and use their strengths to help them overcome and cope with their daily struggles in school. My students' consistent efforts and positive attitudes are an inspiration to me and their peers! I am always looking for engaging, fun ways to teach them the skills they need to be successful in school.
