We are in a society where talking about our feelings and building positive relationships need to be at the core of a classroom. I hope to open this up and instill in my students this very skill through mindfulness. Learning about each emotion, how to deal with these big and small emotions, and how to empathize with our classmates with emotion cards, yoga, and breathing will, in turn, create room for independence and agency in learning. I am hoping with giving students a choice in how they accomplish a task and to be able to do it comfortably with a chair, stool, or another seating choice, such as the requested balance balls. I want students to be able to have a whiteboard at their fingertips to walk themselves through an array of curriculum solutions.
