With these neon materials, I will create engaging reading lessons in my classroom. I hope to have multiple Glow Days throughout the school year! This is so important because it helps students become excited about learning and coming to school. Glow Days are opportunities to excite my students about reading and learning! This semester, I plan to teach text structure, main idea and summarizing using these materials. The petal highlighters allow my students to use different colors for different key words or phrases. The best part, they glow in the dark when used on paper! The neon paper will help with practice as well. What's more fun than making key words glow?! Ever had to crawl through a series of lasers? With black lights and white string, I can create a fun experience for learning inferences! Towards the end of the year, I can't wait to create a week of Glow Games in preparation for our state testing. All supplies listed would be used to create different glow games, for all subjects! For example, Jenga (tape or paint on ends of pieces), bowling (glow sticks in water bottles and hamster ball), Spoons (wrap spoons in tape and create question cards using paper). There are so many possibilities! My goal this year is to create Glow Days for reading concepts and review, but next year I'd like to expand to math. Thank you for helping my students become excited about learning!
