The lab equipment will help students measure liquids and conduct lab experiments to be able to see/do instead of me just telling them in a lecture. We will use the equipment to see chemical and physical changes or properties, as just one example for using the equipment. They can use these in different labs through out the school year. Graduated cylinders will be used to measure liquids for experiments and thermometers to measure temperature of liquids. Beakers will be used to hold the chemicals that we mix in class. Vinegar, Epsom salt, calcium chloride will be used to show chemical reactions that happen and/or dissolving rate. Pipettes are so the students can carefully drop liquid on solids to show reactions (chemical properties). We always need to protect our eyes so the safety goggles are perfect for the students to wear and clean after each experiment. I love to do hands-on experiments so the students inquire and want to learn more about what they learn. My position was new this year so I had to beg and borrow from other science teachers for equipment to use in my classroom.
