The traditional classroom does not always support the active students of today. The students will use the alternative seating options to have choice to the traditional classroom seating. With this alternative seating they will be more comfortable and more engaged. When the students are independently and collaboratively learning, keeping students engaged is not always easy. However, when they get to choose their seating and are allowed to move, engagement will improve. This will help the students become more successful in their own learning. This project of alternative seating will allow my kids to be more comfortable and therefore more engaged in their learning. The wobble chairs and the stacking chairs will be able to be used at the table as an alternative to a traditional student chair and can help those students who need movement be able to focus as the chair will provide that versus them "squirming" in their seats! The carpets will be used as a place for children to sit on the floor around lowered tables for an added seating option, where children who enjoy sitting on their knees or criss-crossed may do so without the risk of falling out of their seat. The bean bag chairs and loungers will be another area in which students will have options beside a traditional desk chair. These various seating options will be used daily as we no longer enjoy traditional student desks and are encouraging more collaboration amongst students. They will be able to retain more and reach higher expectation when they are allowed to have choice and they will only become more successful. We know it's a lot easier to share ideas and contribute to learning the more comfortable we are in our environment! Thank you for your support!
