My students come to school full of energy and ready to learn. In my classroom I have students who are very anxious, students with lots of energy, and students who are five years old and have a hard time staying focused. I want to give my students flexible seating to make them feel comfortable and give them opportunities for movement for optimal student engagement and learning. Some of the flexible seating options that will be provided with this project include yoga cushions, wobble stools, exercise balls, and chair bands. All of these options will give my students the opportunity to sit comfortably and move around while they are learning. The wobble stools and exercise balls allow students an outlet for restlessness and extra energy. It will also promote increased learning and productivity. The chair bands provides students reduce anxiety and promotes a sense of calm. The chair bands will also enhance the ability to focus on learning. This project would significantly help my students stay engaged in our learning throughout the day. I cannot wait to see all of the things they can do with flexible seating!
