My students are energetic, fun-loving, enthusiastic learners. They thrive on social interaction, love to share their insights and observations of the world around them. We are surrounded by natural beauty here on the Oregon coast, but much of our community is challenged with a lack of economic resources. Many students rely on school as their one constant during the day, and for many of my students, it's the first opportunity they've had in life to cooperate and learn from one another. I challenge myself to teach the whole child, building not only on academic learning but the ability to cooperate and communicate with one another, creating life-long learners.
