It is important for students to learn how to organize and care for their work at a young age. This cart will allow my Kindergarten students to file their own work, as well as help them develop responsibility and independence. They will also see that their work is valued and important. Having a special place for their work, sending their work home, and holding them accountable for completing their work, all help to develop students who care about the work they do. This cart will also help me stay organized and manage the classroom materials and lessons. I am starting a new classroom this year, and there is almost nothing in it. I am getting donations from friends, family, colleagues, and community members, and the district will be able to provide some things as well, but I really want to do my best to create a wonderful environment for my students. Kindergarten is such an important year to make students feel valued, welcome, and loved at school, and having a warm and inviting classroom is a crucial part of this goal.
